Description
Train Trestle over the Moodna Creek - Moodna Viaduct Railroad Trestle.
Cornwall NY , Beaver Damn Lake area and Salisbury Mills - in the Hudson Valley of New York .
A favorite gorgeous Autumn landscape scene from Jackson Ave that runs between the Cornwall and Mountainville area through Beaver Dam and Salisbury Mills NY at the base of the Schunemunk Mountains.
Our school bus went through all these winding roads from Orrs Mills Rd to Clove Road which is at the base of this mountain and where I grew up.
We often road our horses up to the top of these mountains to enjoy the majestic views.
The Metro - North Commuter Port Jervis line runs over the Moodna creek along with the Norfolk Southern Freight trains.
This iron trestle was built in 1905 by the Erie Railroad. The open ironwork in the legs of the trestle is what is credited to help withstand the wind and the Hudson Valley's Blustery winter weather .
At 193 high up in the air - the views of the autumn foliage through the hills and valleys of our area are simply breathtaking .
A tourist attraction from the NYC leaf peepers has put our little area of Salisbury Mills on the map !
