Along the Appalachian trail, Mount Tammany is the Southernmost peak of the Kittatinny mountains. This mountain range runs from Northwest NJ through to Pennsylvania.
If you are an Alumni of East Stroudsburg University - it is a pretty sure bet that you have hiked along this range.
Credit to the original photo source of inspiration, and the hike goes to my daughter Jasmine
The views from the top of the mountain are outstanding as you can see from up on Mt. Tammany.
This is an arduous hike to the top - and you must be in shape. It is a steep climb up to the top of 1,525 feet. Along the way you may be using large rocks as steps on the trail.
Be dressed appropriately for the weather - good hiking shoes or boots - and plenty of water.
There is a lower trail that is much easier and has a beautiful view and look out point of the Delaware river.
Winter was at its end and the snow had all melted - it was an unusually warm day. The trees are a bare silhouette against the grey skies. The foliage of dried grass of russet and golden color.
Monochromatic.
