Ulster County, Esopus area - The Hudson Valley of New York is Perrine' s Covered Bridge.
North of New Paltz for travel between Rifton to Rosendale NY. Spanning over the Wallkill river - now a Pedestrian walkway.
Vintage Americana. Perrine's Covered Bridge.
An old Wooden covered bridge with a Burr truss arch.
And to hear the old timers say it - you might think it was called "Pine's",
but then again, they are known to say "Shamgunk " for the Shawangunk mountains.
So it is said with a long " I " - and proudly boasts of being the 2nd oldest covered bridge in New York.
Up in the Hudson Valley NY tucked away in quaint towns of Ulster County this bridge spans over the Wallkill river from Rifton to Rosendale NY .
Now a historic site, it was named after a Tavern keeper James Perrine.
Back in the day his son used to have to shovel snow across the bridge so that they horse drawn sleighs could continue their travel and commerce across the river.
Built by Benjamin Wood in 1844 - this one lane bridge Spans 154' and is covered with a Burr Arch Truss.
A lovely day or weekend trip for a scenic ride through the mountains of the Hudson Valley New Paltz area , this covered bridge resides about 90 miles from New York City .
