Maize, or Indian Corn - Autumn Harvest . Fruits of the Autumn Bounty
Ornamental or Decorative Corn.
The ears of corn and their husks are displayed in the shape of a wreathe.
A tangled weave of Indian corn or Maize - all the colors of the Fall and Autumn Harvest Season. Halloween through Thanksgiving the rich burnt orange, rust to golden Amber hues color the Harvest season.
Indian Corn or Flint corn was introduced by the Native Americans to the Colonists to cultivate crops. This may be the one crop that got them through the long cold winters.
Flint corn is hard, and low on moisture and can withstand the cold temperatures.
We now prefer the varieties of yellow or white sweet corn, arguably our favorite Vegetable of summer
