Description
Deep Orange Sunset Sky . Day is done, October sky ©
Blazing Orange and blue Sunset. A Halloween Sky .
Bare trees sway in an Autumn sky. All is quiet on the marsh, save for a few calls of the geese settling in for the evening.
The Hudson Valley of New York.

As they say " Red sky at night, Sailors delight... "
And a beautiful new day will dawn tomorrow. The cycle of life.
The scenic landscape of The Hudson Valley NY
The sun sets on the marsh in an Autumn sky,
Bare tree limbs silhouetted by the Salmon orange blaze as the last light of day departs from the azure blue sky. The shadows of the day fall across the water.
It has a surreal quality to it.
About this painting.........
I guess I should leave you to your own conclusions on how you interpret an image through your own eyes.
But sometimes, I think things require some explaining to make more sense.
This started out as another version of one of my favorite marshy spots.
If your lucky enough to live by such an evocative natural landscape area, you know how it tugs at your heart and helps you find your center of balance again when your own vision gets out of focus.
A few minutes of peace and serenity to be surrounded by only the calls of nature.
So I returned to my spot, as I often do.... when I need to find my peace.
As I was painting this watercolor it started to take its own twists and turns - they always do; it is watercolor and water just has a mind of it's own.
Just a little study of tree, always fascinated by their complex twists and turns.
After struggling to try to maintain my original vision - I finally gave in...
and let it speaks its peace.
Hence the name of the image - " Day is done".
It is about life, and love. Our ancestors, connections, loss, and the never ending cycle and renewal of life.
And fear... and faith. And how powerful those emotions can be.
The emotions all twisted and entwined, and our perception of things meant to be.
I'm sure you have your own mixed emotions, but when I need answers - I go out into nature. The cycles of life, the beauty of the rise and fall will always reassure me .
And as a wise friend often says; " All is well, and all is meant to be."
